ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS for the IATA/IATAN ID CARD

 

The IATA/IATAN ID Card is a key to industry recognition and part of a worldwide program. It identifies bona fide United States travel agencies and travel agent personnel. The photo identification card includes your name, VER# (Verification Number), the name of the accredited travel agency, its numeric code, your start date, position and other pertinent information. As an additional benefit all cardholders automatically receive travel accident protection in the amount of $35,000 underwritten by Virginia Surety Company, Inc.

 

Requirements to attain IATA/IATAN card.

1. The applicant must be a bona fide owner, employee or an independent agent of an IATA/IATAN accredited agency.

2. Independent agent must earn a minimum of $5,000 in salary and/or commissions in the prior 12 months.

3. Independent agent must devote a minimum of 20 hours per week to the business of selling travel.

4. Agent must be at least 18 years of age.

5. Host agency must be registered in good standing with IATA/IATAN.
